Abstract: It has been largely observed that the traditional energy resources make damage to the nature. These energies are also called non-renewable. It is possible and easy to seek the alternative energy sources to save the environment. Solar energy, wind power, and geothermal heat can be the best alternatives. These energies are also called renewable energies. It is the solar energy and wind energy that can be dominantly used at the lowest cost. The location for the solar power plant is determined by solar isolation availability along with other essential factors and considerations. The solar system can be calculated in terms of panel generation factor, energy required from PV modules, total watt peak ratings, required PV modules, inverter and battery sizing, PV modules circuit and land required. The wind power system is calculated theoretically in the number of wind mill required to fulfil the requirement. A solar wind hybrid power system can be calculated using HOMER (Hybrid Optimization Model for Multiple Energy Resources) software. Also, techno economic analysis is done by HOMER software. A techno-economic analysis is done for four different systems such as on-grid solar power system, off-grid solar power system, wind power system and solar wind hybrid power system. Analysis done for the location located at Islampur, Dist. Sangli, Maharashtra. Among this on-grid power system is good for Islampur location. The four systems are compared with the each other the initial capital cost of on-grid solar power plant, off-grid solar power plant, wind power plant and hybrid solar wind power plant are 3,42,633 INR, 7,50,416.4 INR, 15,20,000 INR and 7,98,065.8 INR. Net present cost of each system such as 6,64,794 INR, 12,19,781 INR, 24,50,000 INR and 13,03,647 INR respectively. The renewable fraction of these systems are 72.6%, 100%, 49.1% and 100% respectively.
