Abstract: Inline knockout machine is designed to separate sand and castings from mold box. The knockout machine consists of a top deck, made out of thick steel plate & having net mesh of bars & flat plates, which together with top rugged fabricated frame floats on heavy duty springs resting on a supporting structure .the floating top frame is made to shake violently either by an eccentric shaft drive mechanism or by vibro-motor system .The main body is supported on a sets of coil springs, which is designed in such a way that it will transmit very less vibration effect to the base frame. Vibration is controlled by unbalanced weights provided on each side of spindle. Failure of the components such as vibrating box, vibrating frame, and damper takes place after certain number of cycles. The virtual prototype model of the knockout machine is established with CATIA and the finite element analysis model of a screen box is established with ANSYS. Modal analysis and harmonic analysis have been carried out based on dynamic analysis technology. By making modal analysis and harmonic response analysis in ANSYS, the dynamic data of the screen and the screen frame was obtained, such as the natural frequencies, mode shapes, stress distribution and strain distribution.
