Mobile Ad-hoc network (MANET) is multi-hop network without having central authority. In MANET, nodes should cooperate with each other to routes packets to the destination effectively. But unfortunately, intermediate nodes may misbehave owing to their self interests and disturb the network. Therefore, there is a need of trust among nodes in the MANET. Many existing trust management schemes add additional computation and communication overhead to MANET nodes. Therefore we propose a Lightweight Trust Model for malicious nodes detection and isolation from the network. The proposed trust management protocol works on the top of AODV protocol. The proposed system is able to detect malicious nodes at low communication and computational overhead. Also this work covers several trust management schemes for evaluating trust and trust based routing in MANET. Experimental results indicates that while detecting malicious nodes in the network, the performance of proposed model is better in terms of packet delivery ratio and control packet overhead.en_US
