In metal cutting operation the features of tools, input work materials, machine parameter settings will influence the process efficiency and output quality characteristics. For turning operation, the cutting parameter such as depth of cut and feed rate are taken as constant values for all experiments and changing the values of rake angle and cutting speed. For that experimentation, AISI 1020 steel is turned by high speed steel with single point cutting tool. Response surface methodology experimental design called central composite design is used for conducting the experiments. During experimentation, the cutting force components and tool vibration are measured with the help of piezoelectric dynamometer and accelerometer respectively. Tool wear is measured by the help of weighing machine. The adequacy of a model is checked with the help of Analysis of variance (ANOVA) technique. The quadratic model is developed for predicting the values between input parameter and responses. With the help of prediction, the rake angle and cutting value is at optimum condition to minimize cutting forces, tool vibration and improvement in tool life of cutting tool. So that, it is clear that the rake angle increases the particular cutting force of the tool is reduced and increase in tool life.en_US
