Shock wave propagating through conduit with side branch is used for the purpose of shock wave attenuation from the underground shelter after an explosion. We examine a blast protection conduit with side branch having circular cross-section whose diameter is 200 mm. A numerical simulation examining the option of using branched conduit geometry for shock wave attenuation. Simulations were carried out using Ansys Fluent to complete the description of the flow studied here. Pressures were recorded along the conduit wall (static pressure) and at the branched pipe end wall (stagnation pressure). Numerical simulation was repeated with a constant initial patch of 600 KPa and with different branch angle (600,800,900). It was found that the angle of the branched pipe has a significant effect on the flow inside the branched pipe; the stagnation pressure recorded at the branched pipe end wall surpasses the pressure in the main channel behind the original incident shock wave. Finally, The flow developed in the investigated branched conduits is unsteady three dimensional Fluid Structure Interaction (F.S.I) analysis of optimum blast protection conduit was carried out and check structure of blast protection conduit safe or not.en_US
