Abstract: In today’s globally competitive world, the customer expects better solution than the existing one. For industries, it is necessary to launch innovative products or existing products as quick as possible to sustain in that world. The objective of this dissertation work is to develop a customized application for a catalytic converter with the help of open source CAD kernel Open Cascade technology (OCCT). Due to this application easily and effectively reuse and retrieve the geometrical components of the catalytic converter. Different models of Catalytic Converter can achieve by Knowledge based Engineering (KBE) concept, for that particular CAD software or kernel is required. OCCT is one of the latest technologies to make the customized application. OCCT is characterized by an open and modular architecture of its modeling libraries. Customized Catalytic Converter model geometry achieved by integrates of KBE concept with OCCT. This customized application concept based on KBE or Parametric Modeling. The aim of this work is to generate catalytic converter components and assembly automatically. This explores modeling carried out of the catalytic converter assembly with the help of different literature reviews, which shows that how the modeling time is reduced by using programming language and macros. In this work with the help of Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC) Graphics User Interface (GUI) has created. OCCT has its own Application Programming Interfaces (API’s) can easily create customized catalytic converter components and assembly on GUI. So, due to OCCT efficiency and qualities are improved, standardization has a great influence on cost reduction.
