dc.description.abstractAs concrete has a high compressive strength and steel has a high tensile strength, when these two materials are employed to carry weights, the efficiency increases. When a structure is subjected to a significant live load, the concrete slab suffers tension, resulting in the production of cracks and, finally, deformation. Post tensioned steel tendons are injected during the concrete process and tensioned after the fact with regular rebars to remedy this issue. When these post tensioned steel tendons are stressed, the concrete is compressed or compacted, enhancing the compressive The strength of the concrete and the tensile strength of the steel tendons being pulled. As a result, the overall strength of the concrete increases. A tensile slab consists of traditional slab reinforcement and projecting high strength steel tendons that are tensioned after the concrete hardens. When these post tensioned steel tendons are stressed, the concrete is stressed. Thinner concrete sections and/or longer spans between supports can arise from utilizing post-tensioned reinforcing to construct floor slabs.en_US
