Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara districts of Western Maharashtra experienced a most destroying ood in 2019. There was enormous loss of life and property such as death of human, animal and damage to road and bridge structure. Due to oods, interstate and inter-district roads were closed for tra c in Kolhapur, Sangli, Sa- tara districts. It is found that the most damage to bridge structure is caused by the occurrence of oods compared to all other natural hazards in the world. It is also important to determine the exact condition of the bridge after a ood event and to provide suitable retro tting solutions.en_US
